Responsibility

Raahe Museum considers responsibility in all its activities and strives to make them as ecological, accessible, fair, and equal as possible.

The museum is also committed to making its services as accessible as possible in both digital and physical environments while continuously improving accessibility in all its aspects.

Accessibility

  • The Museum of Pakkahuone and the Crown Granary Museum offer free admission to all visitors on Saturdays. Other museum sites are free to visit during their opening hours (June–August).
  • The museum's website has been designed with accessibility in mind, complying with relevant accessibility legislation and guidelines. Efforts are also made to ensure good accessibility in the content shared on the museum’s social media channels. You can find the museum's accessibility statement here.
  • The museum’s digital exhibition content is accessible.
  • Virtual tours are available for the Pakkahuone Museum and the Sovelius House.

Equality

  • We treat everyone equally. Any form of discrimination, bullying, racism, sexism, disability-based discrimination, as well as homophobic or transphobic speech or behavior, is strictly prohibited.
  • We address any inappropriate behavior. If you encounter misconduct within the museum premises or have any concerns, please contact the museum staff.

Recycling

  • We properly sort and recycle metal, plastic, paper, cardboard, glass, and any electronic waste that may be generated.
  • We utilize recycled materials, for example, in exhibition construction. During the renovation of the Crown Granary Museum, floor planks that were removed have since been repurposed for building display cases.

Sustainable tourism

  • Raahe Museum is part of Visit Finland’s Sustainable Travel Finland program, and we are currently working on sustainability and responsibility aspects related to the Good Travel Seal certification.
